We've only just moved out and Wellington wants me back unexpectedly. Last year during a LOTR movie marathon at the Roxy Cinema, we met up with Weta Workshop's CEO Richard Taylor and spoke to him about the new private LOTR Fan Museum, The One Room, in Newtown. Richard mentioned he might have a few cool things for us, and after Kathy emailed with him for a spell, it looks like he's located a few things, and has invited us to meet with him on Friday evening at the workshop. Can't miss that!
So Friday morning we drive off again, and as we leave the house, we see a starling fly out of a hole in the wall. Mental note to self: close up the hole as soon as we come back. Meanwhile, we film inside it to make sure there's no nest there or anything. Luckily there doesn't appear to be, so that's good.
We squeeze a double doctor's checkup into the trip, and afterwards, the meeting at Weta goes really well. Richard explains he can't officially give us the items but offers them on a "semi-permanent loan" basis. Some very significant pieces that might otherwise be lost or destroyed!

| Pure treasure! Pieces of Theoden's armour; parts of the original Sting; three of Gimli's axe-heads, and more! |
After the visit, we enjoy a curry with Kathy & Pete, and stay in Wellington for the night. We'll do some shopping tomorrow morning, and then we'll drive back "home"(!) to Dannevirke again.
